She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1947.  Her work career began in the early 1950's where she worked at Bank of the Southwest however that was cut short when she met and married Foy Myrick in the mid fifties.  Together they raised 4 children and were further blessed with 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  She dearly loved this family of hers and spending time with them.  She also loved animals of all kinds especially elephants, beautiful plants and flowers.

In the 1970's Darlyne went back to work with Tercar Theatres where she was both a group sales representative and a manager of the Bellaire Theatre.  Beginning in 1983 they moved around Texas, following opportunities to make money in Austin, Plano, Centerville, Sugarland and finally League City.  In 2009, following the death of her husband Foy, she moved to Friendswood, TX to live with Mary and Ron.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary L. Budrunas and her husband Ronald E. Smith of Friendswood, TX and Sandra K. Rhodes and her husband Don R. Rhodes of Houston, TX; son, Jerry D. Myrick and his wife Donna Myrick of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Jeffery Rhodes, Jeremy Rhodes and wife Nikki, Brian Rhodes and wife Stacey, Lauren Myrick and Paige Myrick; great-grandchildren, Eleanor Rhodes and Everett Rhodes; and many other relatives and cherished friends.

Phyllis Myrick Stake

I am so sorry that I can't be there with you, and my heart aches for the whole family. Aunt Darlyne so full of life, love, joy was one of the most incredible people to walk this earth. She made everyone feel special and loved. Darlyne impacted me and my family in so many ways. She will be greatly missed until we see her again. She was a virtuous woman, a blessing to all, a real Proverbs 31 woman! Love to all Phyllis.
